Debrief

• Practice was a little crazy tonight with the SS meeting being held.
• Spartans jumped into a public server to have a little fun for the last half hour of practice to wait on the match.
• PETEM87 took control of the SR team for the first time and was on top form bringing home a 6-1 win.

Summary

• Comms and movements during the match was excellent again.
• Each member is starting to know each others roles within the SR team.

Friendly 4v4 Squad Rush de-brief with C2W (Call to war) 12/02/2012

Match details:

A very strong performance by us, we ended up winning 6-1 on m-com’s destroyed. First couple of matches were played by the starting squad until Mex had to drop out with Chris taking his spot. We attacked hard and fast just like what we’ve been doing in training and it really paid off. We overwhelmed them and didn’t give them a chance to settle, and as much as it worked in our favour most of the time, we were still a little bit careless on some of the maps with regards to our formation when re-spawning. We should spread out as quickly as possible around the target. As good as the mini-map is for seeing targets it’s also great for seeing your own squad and where any potential weak spots are. Communication also got a bit hectic on one map (Firestorm) where we had enemy at the m-com. It should’ve have really been a whitewash but we ended up bleeding silly tickets on a few occasions. Overall though a very good performance.

Things we can work on:

Clear & concise commands– As mentioned above, when we’re attacking (not too much of a problem btw) counting the enemy down as we kill. This should be standard and I think we’re all doing it now. Defending I think was more of an issue last night with comms, Sebby had laid c4 on the m-com and I think two of us were down and when they were arming no-one had eyes on the m-com to tell sebby to blow the C4. We got them with the c4 but it was just down to luck because where we had been killed we could see them arming on deathcam.

Tactical formations– Probably more specific to attacking but just an idea. I think something along the lines of a diamond formation that we could fall back into would be effective, if the going gets tough so to speak. Re-group & re-cover. Think about possible alternative strategy etc...

Respawning on FTL– Let’s face it, everyone wants to get straight back into the action if they get killed. Sometimes it’s the worst thing to do. One smartly placed M320 dropped on a group of four is deadly in my experience. I think something along the lines of a shout-out to the FTL before respawning would help. Squad:‘FTL ok to spawn?’ FTL: ‘Green’ Fine. ‘Amber’ Danger close not sure if they know where you are. (Spotted?/Not under fire) ‘Red’ Under fire/Contact N/S/E/West.

Just a few idea’s there from me so any input back would be greatly appreciated lads. At the end of the day we’re all improving every match we play together. Long may it continue boys.

Sorry I won't be able to make it on for training tonight actually. I've got a 6 a-side match and we meet at 19:30. We got snowed off last Monday so I'm itching to play. Will definitely be on when I get back though which should be no later than 21:30.

I agree totally our sqaud is coming along excellent, we was a little scrappy at times with spawning but its something we will sort out, roll on the match tomorrow night... we are playing RG the only team so far to beat TKO.....
